What is the Main Reason for Missing Out on a Potential Opportunity?

Have you ever wondered what is the biggest reason that makes people miss out of amazing opportunities? Recently, while having a conversation with my friends, I realized a lot of opportunities that I cashed in on or we cashed in on was because we ventured out of our comfort zones.

“Comfort Zone” – this is the reason why people just don’t even bother trying for better things. It is easier to complain from your home than to sweat it out on the road. When you refuse to level your comfort zone, there is a very high probability that there will be a lot of things you can and will miss.

“The biggest rewards in life are found outside of your comfort zone. Live with it. Fear and risk are prerequisites if you want to enjoy a life of success and adventure.” – Jack Canfield

If you have dreams and if they are big dreams, then you cannot keep doing the same things you are doing at the very moment and expect to achieve bigger dreams. If you have a big vision, then you will have to constantly be stepping out of your comfort zone, that is the whole point.

Being a little uncomfortable and being in situations that scare you in a good way, mean that you are going to be learning a few new things. New things often scare us. One of the reasons is the chance of being ridiculed by others. But, if you are surrounded by people who would make fun of your failure, you anyway are surrounded by the wrong crowd and need to get rid of them.

For example, if you have always been scared of public speaking or even putting your ideas across to a small group of people, then this can be a big problem when you work in an office. You won’t be able to present your ideas or be a part of the discussion in meetings and presentations. You will have to learn to fight it.

“I will guarantee you that the day you step outside your comfort zone by making success your goal is the day you discover that adversity, risk, and daring will make life sweeter than you ever imagined.” – Mark Burnett

Final Thoughts

The best thing to do, to always be ready for potential opportunities, is to not be afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone. Be a little uncomfortable, deal with a bit of anxiety, but eventually, you will be comfortable enough to speak up among people who hold power. You will be one of them!
