What’s Your Unique Business Angle?

business angleAs an entrepreneur, you’re likely well aware of the competition.  Sometimes you can have a great idea only to discover that someone else already has been there and done that and created a successful company.  Rather than being discouraged, your job is to find a new idea or find a way to make your current idea different from what is already available.

This isn’t as difficult as you may think.

In the last decade, internet deal sites have saved people serious amounts of money.  Typically, you search a site for a coupon code, hopefully find one you like, make your purchase, and save money.  However, one site, Chippmunk, has found a way to distinguish itself from the pack of deal sites.

What Makes Chippmunk Different?

First, this site wants to help you stick with your budget.  The very first thing you must do when you want to search for a discount code is enter how much you want to spend.  You can choose any amount, from as low as $5 to as high as $500, that you’d like to spend.

Chippmunk then shows you the discount codes that are available when you’re purchasing something within your price range.  Chippmunk also shows coupons that are available if your budget is a bit larger.  For instance, if you said you wanted to spend $30, Chippmunk gives you the discount codes available in that price range, but then Chippmunk also show other discounts you could receive if you spent $50 instead.

In addition, Chippmunk lets you search by either retailer or product.  Searching by product can show you the many different stores that offer discounts at the price you want to spend.  You may be shopping for printer paper with Staples in mind as the retailer only to find that Office Depot offers the better deal because you searched by the item rather than the retailer.

Chippmunk’s unique angle is that they want to help you stick to your budget when shopping online.

While there are a plethora of deal sites out there, to be successful, Chippmunk found a way to differentiate itself from the rest of the pack.

Think of the businesses that are currently available in your niche.  What are these businesses lacking?  What’s one thing people wish that the businesses would also offer?  What else is needed in this area?  If you can determine this, you may have a very profitable business idea, even if the market already seems full.
