How to Increase your Online Sales this year

Are you aiming to make 2021 the year your sales rocket? It can feel incredibly daunting to know where to start, and often we start to get set in our ways and our business stagnates a little as we become complacent with the way things are. A new year is a perfect reason to shake things up a little and increase those sales. Here are some things to try.

Increase productivty

Accept international payments

If you are able to accept international payments, you are opening your business up to an exponentially large amount of new potential customers. You may be worried that it’s too complicated or difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Setting up to accept multiple currencies in a way that is easy for customers and for you as the seller will bring in sales you wouldn’t have had otherwise. It makes sense.

Rework your copy

If your copy has been the same for a while, it might be time for a refresh. Create copy that is engaging and inspiring as much as informative, and look to work on your SEO keywords to drive that organic traffic too. If you can, try some A/B testing to see what works and what doesn’t.

Invest in adverts

Native adverts that site in the news feeds of platforms like Facebook or Twitter can be really lucrative if you do them right. Make sure you really consider your audience and utilize eye-catching imagery and succinct copy as you only get someone’s interest for a split second. If relevant, perhaps you could pay for some influencer marketing and send out samples of your product to bloggers who can create their own content promoting it to their audience.

Utilize customer testimonials

If your customers are leaving you positive reviews, be sure to shout about it. Set it so that they show prominently on your website and be sure to encourage customers to leave reviews after each purchase too. People are more likely to buy something if they can see that others have liked it or have had good results.

Create a sense of urgency

Sales are a fantastic way to boost your income but if you are seen to have constant discounts on, it dilutes the effect. Try to mix things up with time-limited sales (a countdown on your site is a great option for this) or incentives for customers who purchase right away, such as free shipping. Be honest and transparent but create excitement too.

There are so many little tips and tricks to boost your sales and it often comes down to trying a combination and seeing what works for your business and its customers. Constantly changing and adapting to find the magic formula, rather than staying exactly as things are and coasting on “okay”. Some of these ideas are really easy and affordable to implement and the return could be significant so commit to trying some this month and see how it goes.
